Get To Know Me :)

Hey Beauties, I have been posting makeup pictures on Instagram (@makeupbykaydx) for 5 months now, and I am soon going to have my YouTube channel. Now I haven't really talked about myself on Instagram or shared anything about me, so I thought it's a perfect time for you all to get to know me before I start my YouTube channel.
So here are 10 facts about me:

What's your name?
Now you all know me just by my Instagram name which is makeupbykaydx. But my real name is Khushbu, and my friends call me Khushi (the d after the kay in my Instagram name is the initial for my surname)

What's your D.O.B & how old are you?
So my date of birth is 22nd August (yes I am a Leo baby) and I'm currently 23, going to be 24 in less than a month.

Current relationship status?
I am single.

What's your nationality?
My nationality is British

How tall are you?
I'm 5ft 5inch

What's your favourite colour?
Pink..Pink & Pink! I just love Pink

Do you have any pets?
Yes I have a dog, he is currently 5 years old. He is more of a baby to me than a pet (every pet owner will understand the feeling)

What's you favourite makeup brand?
Ok this is going to be tricky one as I have more than 1. So out of drugstore my favourite makeup brand has to be Rimmel & Maybelline, and for high-end it's Mac Cosmetics.

What's your favourite season?
I love summer because hello it's my birthday season..(hehe)

What's your favourite tv show?
Right so there's more than 3 as I have been obsessed with tv shows lately:
Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Continuum, Once Upon a Time & Orphan Black.

That completes 10 questions, if you have any other questions for me then feel free to comment down below. If any of you do a 'Get To Know Me' blog post then do comment down below.

w7 In The Buff Eye Colour Palette (Swatches & Review)

Hey Beauties, today I am going to review the w7 Natural Nudes - In The Buff Eye Colour Palette (£5.00).

So a couple of weeks ago I went to Asda to buy some groceries and as I was passing the gifts section I came across this palette, I did have my eyes on this palette for a while and when I saw the price tag I couldn't resist it.
I had seen a lot of makeup accounts on Instagram posting pictures of this palette, and decided that I wanted to try it out. As soon as I got home I posted a picture on my Instagram page (@makeupbykaydx) and had decided to post a blog with swatches so that everyone could see how beautiful the colours really are.

Swatches for the w7 Natural Nudes Palette:

So as you all can see this eyeshadow palette is really beautiful. I really like the range of the 12 neutral colours in this palette. The colours are so pigmented and they are easy to blend. I can see myself using this palette for both summer and fall. I am totally in love with it.

I hope this review was useful, and if you end up buying this palette do let me know.
Who else has already tried this palette? Let me know in the comments down below if you like it.

As promised my YouTube channel link will be officially announced at the end of this month, do follow me on my Instagram page: @makeupbykaydx for updates.

Drugstore Makeup Haul July 2015

Hey Beauties, as promised today I have a drugstore makeup haul for you guys.

I went to Boots in store to buy a couple of makeup items, but as usual I ended up buying a lot more than I had planned. Well doesn't that happen to everyone? So Boots usually has offers going on and I had a couple of coupons too. I bought a couple of Rimmel, Maybelline and Revlon makeup items. Rimmel and Maybelline currently have a 'buy 1 get 2nd half price' offer and Revlon has a 3 for 2 offer.

So Rimmel London has released a new concealer and I thought why not try it, so I bought the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Conealer in Soft Beige 20 (£5.49). Now while I was at the Rimmel London makeup section I ended up buying the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation in 200 Soft Beige (£8.99). Now coming to Revlon I had a £2 off coupon and I did have the Revlon Brow Fantasy Pencil & Gel (£7.99) and the Revlon Lash Potion Mascara by Grow Luscious (£9.99) on my list but because Revlon had a 3 for 2 offer I decided to go ahead and buy a Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Rose (£7.99). So that's all I bought from in store.

Now when I came home I went on the boots website as some of the items I wanted were not in store so I thought why not just do a online order. Therefore I ended up ordering the Maybelline Lash Sensational Multiplying Masacara (£7.99), the Maybelline Big Eyes Eyeshadow in Brown (£6.99), the Rimmel London WonderFull Wake Me Up Mascara (£7.99), the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in Nude (£3.99), the Rimmel London Professional Eye Brow Pencil in Dark Brown (£2.99) and a second time purchase of my beloved Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water for Combination & Sensitive Skin (£3.00).

I have yet to try some of the makeup items from this haul so I can't say much about it, but I will update you all once I start trying the products out.

"Disclaimer: All prices mentioned are accurate to when I purchased the products mentioned above"

I hope you all liked this short haul blog post.
Let me know if you end up buying any products mentioned above.

June 2015 Favorites..Makeup & Tv Shows

Hey Beauties, I am back with a June Favorites blog post today so let's jump right into my favorite makeup items for the month of June.

Face:

So as summer is here I do prefer to use foundations which give a luminous finish to my skin therefore I have been totally loving my L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation. This foundation feels really light on my skin, and it's medium coverage so I do have to use concealer. This foundation is really great for the summer.
For face powder I have been loving my Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder. This powder feels really light and it's also good for touch ups. And talking about Too Faced I do really like their primer too, it's really good for pores and helps the foundation to apply smoothly.
For concealer I have been using my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer for all over my face and my Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser for my under eyes. The Maybelline Fit Me concealer is definitely hands down my all time favorite concealer, after using this concealer I haven't needed to even look for another concealer, the texture of this concealer is thin and feels really light on my skin. The Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser is a great concealer for anyone who has dark circle problems, I'm not sure about the anti-age eraser they are saying as I'm only 23 therefore I don't have botox, but maybelline does claim that this product erases lines and wrinkles. I only use it because it covers my dark circles and doesn't crease under my eyes.
For blush I have been using my Mac Blush in Buff and my L'Oreal Paris Le Blush in 115 True Rose. The Mac blush in buff is a really pretty light beige more like a light taupe with a matte finish, and the L'Oreal Paris blush in true rose is a rosy pink with some brown undertones and shimmer, but the shimmer doesn't really show up when I apply to it to my cheeks so its great for everyday.
For contouring I have been really liking my Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light. This contour kit is really great, it has a contour shade and a highlighter in a small packaged container which is easy to take while traveling. The contour shade is really nice and buildable so I would say even though it's in the shade light, I can get away with it as my skintone is medium. The highlighter is so pretty and I must say even though my all time favorite highlighter is my L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter, I have just been using the highlighter from my Sleek Contour Kit and it does look a lot like the L'Oreal highlighter.
And last but not the least for my face I have been really liking the Mac Studio Fix+, this really helps refresh my face. I apply it after I have done my makeup and it really helps my makeup last longer.

Eyes:

For Eyeshadows I just kept is to mostly warmer tone colors as its summer so why not go with the warm theme?! I used the Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette, the Rimmel London 5 Colour Eyeshow in 022 Brixton Brown and Maybelline Color Tattoo in 65 Pink Gold.
For eyeliner I only used the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Stylo Eyeliner in 301 Night Day Black on my waterline.
For mascara I'm sure by now you guys know how much I love my Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious, so why not use the best mascara?!

Lips:

For lips I have been using my Mac Lipstick in HotGossip and my L'Oreal Color Riche Matte Lipstick in 640 Erotique.

That's it for makeup now lets talk about my favorite Tv Shows for the month of June.

Pretty Little Liars is my all time favorite show, I am also a big fan of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals but it aired it's seasons last episodes in May so as I didn't have anything to watch I decided to search through Netflix to see what good shows are out and picked Continuum.

So Continuum is about a group of Terrorists called Liber8 who were sentenced to death in the year 2077, but this group had other plans which was to escape that sentence and to do a time jump from 2077 to 2012, which also takes a Law Enforcement Officer Kiera who is living a normal life with her son and husband with the group of terrorist to the year 2012. With the help of a teen computer genius Alec Sadler Kiera starts understanding how to fit into 2012, she wants to go back to her family but she has to first stop Liber8 before they change the future by changing the present.

So OMG guys Pretty Little Liars Season 6 started in the month of May and I have been loving that show ever since I started watching it in January. Talking about Pretty Little Liars, who else is getting annoyed with the fact that the big A reveal they were talking about has not made us come closer to knowing A? It's just put the viewers back to square one. Lets just see if we ever do find out who A is.

So this wraps up my June Favorites, I hope you all liked reading this post and I will be doing a haul blog post on Tuesday so be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter @makeupbykaydx for updates.

L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder VS L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter

Hey Beauties.
I can't believe it's July already! Time really does fly!!
So I have decided to start a mini blogging series called 'Terrific Thursday' where I will be posting a new blog post every Thursday starting from today. I hope you lots enjoy this mini blogging series, and if you have any requests then just place a comment down below.

So let's jump straight to today's blog post as you already know by the title and from my Instagram sneak peek picture, it is a comparison post featuring the L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder in Rose Boudoir and the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter in meduim.
Now I myself am a big fan of L'Oreal products, I like the choice range they have, so when I was on Superdrugs website a few months back I came across the L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder and decided to buy it. This highlighter retails for £8.99. This highlighter is a powder whereas the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter (purchased from Boots) is a liquid format highlighter. The L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter retails for £8.49, so as you can already tell the price difference isn't that much between these 2 products.

What's the difference?
These 2 highlighters are not the same at all, the only thing similar is that they both are from the Lumi Magique line. The L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder is a pearly highlighter whereas the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter is a liquid highlighter.
The L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder unfortunately only has pearls on top of the product, once you start using it after a couple of uses you're only left with a powder which is not flattering. While the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter is a twist up highlighter pen which throughout the product gives you a beautiful highlighting effect. I use the highlighter mostly for my under eye bags and cheekbones.
The L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder isn't a bad product but as I said above after a couple of uses its not a highlighter anymore.

Here are swatches for these 2 products:

Swatch for the L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder in Rose Boudoir:

Comparison swatch for L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder in Rose Boudoir (top) and L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter (bottom)

I would recommend going for the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter it is worth the money.
I couldn't find the L'Oreal Lumimagique Pearl Powder on superdugs webiste but luckily I found it on boots webiste (Links are on the name of the products above each swatch picture).

That wraps up todays blog post, I hope you guys liked reading this post, and if you have any questions or requests for a blog post then do leave a comment below.

EMPTIES! Makeup & Beauty Products.. Liked it or Not? Re-purchase?

Hey beauties, as this is my first blog post I thought I would do a empties blog, so today I will be sharing with you all the products I managed to finish off and whether I liked them enough to re-purchase them.
I have 2 makeup products and a couple of beauty products.

So let's start talking about the makeup products first.

Revlon Brow Fantasy Pencil & Gel in Dark Brown (price: £6.99)

So I went to the Boots website (www.boots.com) in January and decided to purchase the Revlon Brow Fantasy Pencil & Gel in Dark Brown (price: £6.99). I picked this brow pencil and gel because I really love the Revlon lipsticks and mascaras and decided to give try out their brow pencil. I really like the way its double-sided with a pencil on one end to fill the brows in and then the gel on the other end to set them.

Did I Like It?
The first time I only used the brow pencil to see if it is lasting on its own and then the second time I applied the gel on top of the filled in brows to see if it makes a difference, and holly molly you won't believe that the brow pencil on its own is amazing but you do need the gel to set it else the eyebrows will look incomplete. There is only aa minus in this product and that is you can't finish off the full pencil. I still have some product left but i can't sharpen the end of it so I can't use it.

Would I Re-purchase It?
This brow pencil and gel is the best I have used so far and would definitely repurchase this product. I just wish they changed the packaging so that the sharpener could reach towards the end.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Illuminating Concealer (price: £5.99)

So this was another purchase from the boots website (www.boots.com), they have 3 shades online and it is hard to tell which one will best suit you as you can't swatch it. I was already familiar with the shade I was purchasing as this was a re-purchase for me. My shade is 040 Soft Beige (my skin tone is medium). For my under eyes I first use the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser Eye Concealer (price: £7.99) in the shade Nude, and then use the Rimmel Illiminating Concealer on top of it to brighten up the eye area.

Did I Like It?
This is hands down my all time favorite under eye concealer, it not only brightens up the under eye area but also helps cover the dark circles. This product is incredible and highly recommended.

Would I Re-purchase It?
As I said above I was already familiar with my shade therefore I have of course re-purchased this concealer earlier (now it will be the 5th time) so you could just imagine how much I love this product and could never think of not having it in my makeup collection.

Now let's talk about beauty products.

Olay Total Effects 7in1 Moisturiser Eye Transforming Cream (price £:14.99)

This again was a purchase at boots but this time I went in store to buy this eye cream. Mostly there are positive reviews out there on this product, nearly everyone who has tried this says its the best and others should buy it, and thats what made me want to try this eye cream. Olay claims that this eye creme is a 7 in 1 transformation creme and fights the 7 signs of ageing all around the eye area. I used the full container and it took me about 2 months to finish the as you only need a little amount. After a week into this product I just wanted to get rid of it as I couldn't see any changes around my eye area, but I decided to give it a go and see for a couple of weeks. After 5 weeks I was completely sure this eye creme wasn't for me, it wasn't doing anything to my eyes and I didn't notice any difference.

Did I Like It?
I did try to like it but unfortunately it's not for me, I really wish it did something. I feel that there are better eye creams out there and that too for much cheaper.

Would I Re-purchase it?
Definitely NO! As I said it is too pricey and if it isn't doing anything then there is really no point in re-purchasing it. Before this eye cream I was using the Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Eye Cream (price: £6.99) which is the best eye cream I have tried so far, it's far more cheaper and works for me. I already went ahead and bought another one of the simple age resisting eye cream, I love it.

I bought the cleansing wipes pack from boots in store when I went to purchase the eye cream. These wipes are good, they are moist and works perfectly for removing your face makeup. It claims to remove waterproof mascara but I feel that I have to use 2 wipes for each eye to remove the mascara, and still the mascara is not completely removed. Now I use the Garnier Skin Natural Micellar Cleansing Water for Combination & Sensitive Skin (price: £4.99) to remove my eye makeup as it's much quicker, you can also use it for removing your face makeup.

Did I Like It?
I do like these wipes but only for removing my face makeup, I have to use cleansing water for removing my eye makeup. I would prefer using the cleansing water for all over my face and eyes, I think it's much easier to remove my makeup without using 2 different products.

Would I Re-purchase It?
Maybe. I am currently liking the Garnier Cleansing Water, so I might continue re-purchasing the cleansing water instead of cleansing wipes.

This was a purchase from Tesco in store. I always buy roll-on deodorants as the smell lasts longer, and my underarms don't feel sticky or sweaty. I tried a couple of different roll-on deodorants before using this one, and I have to say this is the best deodorant I have ever used. It doesn't make my underarms feel sticky and it is the first deodorant that has stopped my underarms from being sweaty.

Did I Like It?
Yes, in fact I love it. This is the best deodorant for sticky and sweaty underarms, and also smells amazing.

Would I Re-purchase It?
Definitely YES! I have used this deodorant for the past 2 years, and this is probably the 20th roll-on I have finished.

That's all the empties for now, I hope you all liked the reviews for each product and feel free to comment below if you have any questions.
